WSSSO on stage at Playing to Learn on 19th June 2019.  More than 1200 secondary school pupils performed today in one of the largest orchestras ever assembled in Scotland during a unique Play to Learn event at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
The event was organised by Scotland’s Music Education Partnership Group to celebrate young people participating in all genres of music.
The pupils were thrilled to be joined in their main performance by renowned Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti and classical composer and conductor Sir James MacMillan.
Earlier in the day, 200 young pipers performed a concert on the steps of the Concert Hall, while other participants took place in jazz and traditional music workshops.
