Donald Finlayson – Course Director, Training Band

Donald Finlayson is a flautist of great distinction having played with RSNO, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and many others during a long and busy playing career. He is currently Head of Instrumental Music for East Renfrewshire Council and is a long-time friend and associate of WSSO Trust; having tutored the flute sections of the training band and symphony orchestra and serving on the Board of Trustees.

Donald took on the role of Training Band Course Director for the 2022 season to help ensure a smooth return to live music-making after a 2 year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic and we were delighted when he agreed to continue in the role, sharing his experience and expertise to ensure the very best experience for our young musicians.
