Payment & Fundraising Information

WSSO Trust is a registered Scottish Charity based at the University of Strathclyde since 1996 and run in partnership with the 12 local authorities of the former Strathclyde Region to provide professional training and performance opportunities for young musicians.

The full cost of providing our annual calendar of activities (accommodation, staff tutors, transport, management and administration etc.) is much greater than the amount from our members. The Members Contribution for season 2017 (senior ensembles) is £310. The real cost to provide the 2017 calendar of events is approximately £700 per member.

Each partner local authority annually provides funding and instrumental tutors and nominates a representative to serve on the Board of Trustees while the University of Strathclyde provides professional services, office and storage facilities. This provides a strong structure but with costs rising and local authorities facing further budget cuts, WSSO Trust, a registered charity, must now work harder than ever and find new ways to raise the funds required to ensure that activities of the highest professional level can be made available to school musicians at affordable cost.

Please read the enclosed Fundraising Information.  If you would like to help us to continue to help provide the best experience for you and your child, please do get in touch.
