Events
Seasonal Events As well as summer residential courses, summer concerts are held in June each year in one of the 12 local Authorities in the west of Scotland. In addition, the Orchestra and Concert Band perform each year in August at the Festival of British Youth Orchestras in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Additional events held in recent years have included; - A ‘Taster Day’ conducted by RSAMD Principal, John Wallace OBE, and former WSSO Trust, Artistic Director, John Grant - April 2006
- A joint rehearsal with the RSNO in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall - May 2006/2007
- A new event at the RSAMD with students of WSSCB taking part in joint rehearsals with members of the RSAMD Wind Ensemble - June 2006
- Solo/Concerto competition - January 2007
- WSSCB performing at the BASBWE International Wind Conference at the RSAMD - 29th June 2007
- Members of WSSSO performing with Celtic Connections Youth Orchestra - January 2007
Taster Day The purpose of this event is to introduce members to each other and to staff involved the summer course. We also play through some of the music we may be working on and give an informal performance at the end of the day for parents. | Taster Day, April 2006,
