Where do the auditions take place?
All string, woodwind and brass auditions will take place at;
- Room R530
- Royal College Building
- 204 George Street
- University of Strathclyde
- G1 1XW
The entrance is at 204 George Street. For Rm 530, take one of the lifts at the top of the main staircase to level 5 then turn left on exiting the lift. Following the signs for R530, turn left at the end of the corridor and Room 530 will be on your left hand side a few yards further on.

All percussion auditions will take place at the Carlibar Campus, Carlibar Road, Barrhead G78 1BD.
Strings, Woodwind & Brass
You will be required to play a single piece (approximately 3 – 5 minutes) and undertake a simple sight-reading test. All auditions are unaccompanied. In choosing your music, please select something that best demonstrates your ability.
You will be required to play a short piece on tuned percussion, a 2nd piece on either snare drum or timpani and undertake a short sight-reading test on your preferred choice of percussion instrument.
