Important Information for Returning Members
If you were offered a place in 2020 and wish to return to the same ensemble in 2021, no audition will be necessary. All eligible members (ie still attending school) will be offered a place by email during August. If you do not receive an email by Fri 21st August, please contact us by email to;

New Senior Ensemble Audition Requirements: ONLY for those applying for the 1st time or for a new WSSO ensemble

String, woodwind and brass players will be asked to prepare one piece of your own choice (approximately 2-4 mins) and a short test piece which will be sent to you in advance. Percussionists will be asked (where possible) to play a short piece on tuned percussion and a 2nd piece on either snare drum or timpani.

You will be asked to record these and email to WSSO Trust no later than Friday 30th October.

All auditions should be unaccompanied. In choosing your music, please select something that best demonstrates your ability. 

Training Ensemble Applicants (Training Band & String Orchestra)
No auditions are held for our training ensembles and we try to accommodate all applicants. Offer of place letters are issued during December/January with full details of the forthcoming season’s events.
